Changes to Mixed Curbside Recycling
Paper products are welcome again in your Jessamine County curbside recycling bin. Approved paper products include: office paper, junk mail and newspaper. Paper products should be clean, dry and loose — never bag recyclables. Other acceptable items include: dry cardboard, paperboard, plastic bottes, aluminum cans, and glass jars & bottles. Jessamine Creek Gorge Preserve Reservations
Jessamine Creek Gorge is a Preserve owned and operated by the Jessamine County Fiscal Court. The 268 acre tract is recognized as one of the most important sites for conservation within the Kentucky River Palisades, and provides habitat for federally and state listed, threatened and endangered species. In recent years, the Preserve has seen a tremendous increase in visitors. Due to the environmental significance of the Preserve and in an effort to protect this valuable resource, a reservation policy has been instituted. Please make your reservations here.

Large Animal Composting & Livestock Removal
Effective September 1, 2020, Large Animal Composting of KY (LACKY) in Casey County will handle removal of dead livestock in Jessamine County. This is a free service to ensure proper disposal of dead animals to protect water quality and community health. Owner Brent Woodrum asks livestock owners/producers to call or text as soon as the animal goes down day or night. Includes horses, cattle, sheep, hogs, goats, and other agricultural animals. Storm Water Runoff Reporting
When rainfall comes into contact with pollutants such as hazardous wastes, the pollutants can be washed into the storm drain system and in turn into our local waterways. Jessamine County's stormwater ordinance prohibits these discharges. To report a suspected violation of the storm water ordinance on a construction site or a residence, call Richie Horn at Jessamine County Public Services at (859) 887-8078 or email rhorn@jessamineco.com.
